One of the most popular treks in Svaneti is the Mestia to Ushguli trek, which takes you through several ancient villages, including Ushguli, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along the way, you’ll encounter towering glaciers, alpine lakes, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer or flight Tbilisi-Mestia
Arrival in Mestia by car or by plane from Tbilisi. After check in guesthouse travelers will enjoy walking around Mestia to get familiarized with Svaneti. Tour will include visit Margiani’s ancient living complex and history museum of Svaneti. Finalize trek preparations with guide and enjoy dinner in the guesthouse.

Driving distance: 500 km
Day 2: Trekking Mestia-Jabeshi
Trekking from Mestia to Jabeshi. Sleep in Jabeshi guesthouse or camp there.

Walking Distance: 12 km. Walking time: 6-7 hours. Starting altitude: 1500 m. Maximal altitude 1900 m. Ending point: 1650 m.
Day 3: Trekking Jabeshi-Adishi
Trekking from Jabeshi to Adishi. Sleep in guest house or camping. Trail leads from the valley Mulakhura to Adishischala. If you wish we can continue this trekking for 10 more kilometers and reach the view point on 3200 m altitude.

Walking 12 km. Walking time around 7 hours. Starting altitude: 1600 m. Maximal altitude: 2400 m and Ending point: 2000m.
Day 4: Trekking Adishi-Iprali
Trekking from Adishi to Iprali village in Kala community. Sleep in guesthouse or camping.

Walking 17 km. Walking time around 7-8 hours. Starting altitude: 2100. Maximal Altitude at Ckhutnieri path: 2700 m. Ending point 1900 m.
Day 5: Driving Iprali-Ushguli-Mestia
Drive from Iprali to Ushguli. Walk in Ushguli hike to Shkhara glacier. Return to Mestia by car. check in guesthouse.

Driving distance: 60 km. Trekking distance 7 km. Walking time around 3 hour. Starting altitude: 2100. Maximal Altitude: 2750 m. Ending point 1600 m.
Day 6: Transfer or flight to Tbilisi
Flight or drive to Tbilisi.

Driving distance: 500 km
